I´m not living abroad, but I came across this post, and I found it very interesting.
Wow, Iceland! Every Time of my life I dreamed about visiting Iceland because of their great horses (allthough I´m not active in horse riding anymore!) I wish it would be not as expensive as it is for vacation.
(And my fiancé finds it pretty much cold there...he is an Italian

)

Your fiancé is probably right. We don´t really have perfect weather here. Rain and storms all the time. In the summer, it can be quite o.k., this year we had a very dry and warm summer (average temperature 14 ° C). I have to admit, that I never saw an icelandic horse, but I guess I just went to the wrong places. Travelling is much cheaper than it was some years ago. We usually get flights for around 300€ per person for a round-trip to Berlin. Due to the econimic crisis, which hit Iceland very hard, the change ate for the € is really good, so it would be perfect to travel to Iceland now

.
Greetings from Reykjavik (stormy as always),
Kathi

Yeah, Cape Town is lovely, but Joburg???? I really didn't like it when we were there last year. Any good advice how to get along? I found it very hard to imagine life with a kid there. Going everywhere by car, nos afe publice place etc. Strange place. I lived in India for half a year and loved it, I worked in London for a year, not brilliant but okay, but I don't really warm up to the idea to be in Joburg for a couple of months next year and the year after.
Naartje is so cool, already discovered it when I was in SA last year (I was pregnant and already bought lots of stuff

)

God dag!
I'm originally from Leipzig but have been living in beautiful Norway the last 2 years - and I'm planning to stay here!
My boyfriend is Norwegian and so is my little son.
