Thanks! :) Soph absolutely needs more reading material - so if there's anything else you guys can recommend, do tell :D

Hello,

My son is still too young, but he'll be getting the following books when he is older (I must confess I already bought some of them)

- Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes (illustrated by Axel Scheffler)
- the Mog the Cat series
- Paddington Bear
- Winnie Pooh
- Little Bear (by Else Holmelund)
- The Wind in the Willows
- Six-Dinner Sid

- so, basically books about cats and bears :)

Regards,
Caecilia

Oops, I just saw that this thread is already quite old :o - maybe my suggestions will be useful for someone else in the future.

Eric Carle and for sure Gruffalo(Donaldson) are very popular here :D

Thanks for the list! I was wondering what to get for our baby girl, there's just too much to choose from. ;)

@lesileee:
The question was about books suitable for a four or five year old child. Not about adult favourites. :wink:

And again, I'm looking for books. I would love for Soph to have something like the German 'Was ist Was' series. Anyone know if there's anything similar in English? So far, I haven't been able to find anything at all...
